Good health is one of our most precious possessions and the best way to protect it is with the right prevention. On 10 May, the Village is hosting ‘Medici in Piazza’, the event organised and supported by no fewer than nine Lions Clubs from the Valdichiana Aretina and Senese areas, with the sponsorship of Foiano della Chiana Municipality. 
A range of specialist medical consultations offered free of charge to the public as a form of health education, prevention and early diagnosis. Plus IT cancer screening initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles organised jointly with the Institute for Cancer Research and Prevention. Logistics support is being provided by Confederazione Nazionale delle Misericordie d’Italia – Coordinamento delle Misericordie Aretine through Misericordia di Monte San Savino. 
The activities, offered from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 6pm, include:

• Dermatological consultation (skin cancer screening)
• Paediatric consultation (prevention of childhood obesity)
• Veterinary advice 
• Dietetics (nutritional advice)
• Information on cancer prevention and screening 
• Blood glucose and cholesterol testing
• Blood pressure measurement
• Psychology – Counselling Centre 
• Screening for cognitive impairment 
• Treatment of chronic pain 
• Eye examination 
• Pulmonology consultation (screening for chronic obstructive bronchitis)
• Information about Diabetes Alert Dogs (AILD)
